Advocacy
Climate change is a major threat to Nigeria, which is highly vulnerable to its effects. The country is already experiencing the negative impacts of climate change, such as more intense floods, droughts, and saltwater intrusion. Without prompt action, the situation will only get worse.
CACOI, is working to raise awareness of climate change in Nigeria and to help the government develop a low-carbon economic strategy. We believe that Nigeria can transition to a low-carbon economy by 2060, and we are committed to helping make that happen.

Aim and Objective
We are an Independent Body focused on promoting sustainable innovations for rural and Urban communities to mitigate the adverse effect of climate change. Our aims are to work with international development partners, the Government, the private sector, and individuals to tackle the challenges of Climate Change
- To Take Action on Planting Trees in Communities to tackle Climate Change.
- To Reach out to the Communities through Empowerment
- To Educate the communities on steps to tackle the effects of climate change in their communities.
- To provide shelter for indigent members of the communities in areas severely affected by Climate Change
- To provide technological items and equipment needed to combat climate and its effects in affected communities.

Dr. Umaru Bulama
Executive Director, CACOI
Dr Umaru Bulama is a veterinary doctor and the Executive Director of CACOI, a climate change organization that works to address the challenges of climate change in Nigeria. He has over 12 years of experience in animal health, veterinary epidemiology, livestock production, and public health.
Halima Mohammed Lawan
Director Program, Strategy and Engagement
Meet Halima Mohammed Lawan, an esteemed water and environmental engineer, and a vital member of our team.
Halima brings a wealth of experience in water treatment, climate change, sustainability, and pollution control to our organization. Throughout her career, she has been involved in a diverse range of projects, gaining a profound understanding of the industry's complexities and challenges.
